Hotel O'Hare

Today was a day of travelling!

I awoke at 5am in order to get a shuttle from San Bernadino to LAX in time for my 12:30pm flight to Phoenix.

Flight to Phoenix went without a hitch (besides the 2 toddlers in he seat next to me which insisted to cry every time their mother wouldnt let them throw peanuts!)

Arrived in Phoenix on time and in tact, to discover that my flight to chicago had been delayed by half an hour... Off to the airport bar!... DENIED!

Back in the air after an hour or so headed for chicago. No kids this time, just a fantastic looking blonde - who was not at all interested in talking to me :-D

Upon landing in chicago our entire flight were informed that they could not open the cargo bay doors on the side of the aircraft and that they could not get our luggage out.

This posed only a minor inconvenience to those living in the greater chicago area - AmericaWest sponsored them a taxi home and a $25 travel voucher for their troubles.... Alas, when everything you own is inside a backpack that's stuck in the belly of a plane, and you have no forwarding address, you tend to be a little more desperate!

At around midnight we were told that the door definately wouldn't open (how long does it fucking take to figure that out?) and that they were ripping out the chairs and floor to get in through the cabin.

As flights to the east coast were also cancelled that night due to bad weather, terminal 2 of O'Hare International looked like the bloody Aboriginal Tent Embassy as over 150 tired and moody people took to the available chairs and stretchers that the people at the airport had so generously offered! (They responded to the 'Why can't you put us up in the Hilton across the street?' question with 'I've been here since 7am!' WTF!!!!!

Luggage was retrieved around 9:30am - i suppose that qualifies as tomorrows tale!

Chow!
